VPZ What different types of vape kit are there?

If you are new to vaping, it may be daunting at first as there is such a huge selection of vape kits and vape starter devices available online and in-store! We like to categorise them to make choosing the right kit as easy as possible, whether you are brand new to vaping and looking for the ideal starter kit or an experienced vaper looking for a sub-ohm kit that bellows clouds like no tomorrow!

To help explain the different types of vape kit, check out our helpful guideline below!

Closed Pod Vape Kits

Closed Pod vape kits are incredibly easy to use and beginner friendly. They are very compact and require no maintenance other than changing your e-liquid pod once this is empty. Using the Hexa 2.0 Starter E-Cigarette Pod Kit as the perfect example, this device features no adjustable wattage or buttons to fiddle with, all you have to to is click in your chosen pre-filled Hexa Pod from a selection of flavours and you are ready to vape to your heart’s content!

Open Pod Vape Kits

If you like the sound of Closed Pod Vape Kits but are looking for more e-liquid options and ranges to explore, Open Pod Vape Kits may be the perfect choice for you! Again, offering minimal maintenance and keeping a small and compact form these starter pod devices are perfect for beginners and experienced vapers alike. The brand new AEQ Pod Device Kit is one of our favourites and is also extremely affordable at only £14.99. The great thing about the AEQ Pod Kit is that the pods are re-fillable meaning that you are able to choose from a huge selection of e-liquids, our top e-liquid range for this kit is Primal Asalted. This e-liquid range offers mouthwatering fruit and ice blends which provide a refreshing and very moreish vape whilst giving you the kick required to get through the day!

Vape Starter Kits

Vaping starter kits are perfect for… you guessed it, starter vapers! Much like open and closed pod vape kits, they are extremely easy to use and offer a tight MTL (mouth-to-lung) style draw similar to that of smoking a traditional cigarette. Many of our customers find this the best starting point as the draw is somewhat familiar. Our top selling pen style device the Innokin Endura T18-E II Vape Starter Kit is a fantastic example of what to start your vaping journey with. In comparison to the open and closed pod vape kits, this device offers a much larger battery life and in hand with that more power. The Innokin T18-E II kit does not have additional wattage settings which keeps it nice and easy and the only required maintenance is replacing your T18-E coil when required and keeping topped up with e-liquid!

Intermediate Vape Kits

Intermediate vape kits are the next step up for those that are looking for more power, the ability to change wattage settings and dabble in sub-ohm vaping. The Innokin CoolFire Z50 Starter Kit is a great example of an intermediate vape kit, it provides up to 50w of variable power, has a very large 2100mAh battery, an easy-read display screen to show battery life and power settings AND it comes with the Innokin Zenith / Zlide tank. The Innokin Zenith / Zlide tank is where things really start to get interesting, this particular tank can take a selection of both MTL (mouth-to-lung) and DTL (direct-to-lung) coils, expanding your e-liquid options to just about everything available! We would recommend using high VG or 50/50 ejuice like VO and Primal 50/50 with the 1.0ohm and 1.6ohm coils and high VG e-liquids like Absolute Classics Gold and Traditional Lemonade Co with the 0.3ohm, 0.48ohm and 0.5ohm coils.

Advanced Vape Kits

If you are a pro vaper or enjoy a high powered, sub-ohm style vape, our advanced vape kits may just be what you are looking for! Advanced vape kits typically consist of a sub-ohm vape tank and a high powered battery mod that requires additional 18650 batteries to power up (sold separately). Kits such as the SMOK SCAR-18 Advanced Vape Kit offer a whole host of features from variable wattage up to 230w, fast charging, low coil resistance ranges and more. Advanced vape kits have been created with sub-ohm vapers in mind, allowing you to vape at high power with DTL tanks and shortfill e-liquids, we wouldn’t recommend this style of vape kit if you are just starting out as the compatible e-liquids tend to be low nicotine which may not be sufficient for your needs and the draw style is very open and airy which may not be what you are looking for when starting out. However, for those of you that enjoy a sub-ohm vape from an advanced kit, we would recommend using high VG shortfill eliquids, why not take a look at Primal, Bad Drip or Pacha Mama for some tasty treats!
