So, what is nicotine and where does it come from?
Nicotine is an alkaloid found within tobacco plants and other members of the nightshade plant group. Nicotine is the part of the cigarette or e-liquid that you’re actually addicted to. On it’s own it has been shown to be one of the least harmful parts of a cigarette. In basic terms, Nicotine first acts as a stimulant, then a mild relaxant and is not one of the cancer causing parts of a cigarette. That comes from the combustible parts that create ash and tar etc. We offer our e-liquids in a range of different strengths to suit a variety of needs. However nicotine is a completely optional component, we also stock a HUGE range of Nicotine free e-liquids online and in all of our VPZ stores.
What are the side effects of nicotine?
Nicotine can provide a range of side effects on your body and mind from increased alertness to a decreased appetite, you may have heard this from fellow ex-smokers that when they first quit smoking they found some extra biscuits in-hand instead, this is a very common side effect when you come off products containing nicotine. However, it is important to note that we offer our 10ml e-liquid in varying nicotine strengths for a reason, to help ensure that the right strength is available for your needs and that you are not using something that is too high. The side effects of using a nicotine strength which is too high can be unpleasant and ranges from nausea and headaches to vomiting, if you ever feel these symptoms we would recommend contacting your local GP.
Our take on the above is that nicotine is an addictive substance which is relatively harmless when compared to everything else that they pack in to a cigarette, if used correctly and in moderation.
